Progressive Arts Music, in a strange twist, has licensed two tribute albums from their former home, Conquest Music Group. The first to be released is a tribute to the kings of all that is glam, POISON, with an album titled Mamma's Fallen Angel. The track listing is as follows: 'Sexual Thing', 'Nothing But A Good Time', 'I Want Action', 'Unskinny Bop', 'Ride The Wind', 'Talk Dirty To Me', 'I Won't Forget You', 'Cry Tough', 'Fallen Angel', Every Rose Has It's Thorn', 'Valley Of The Lost Souls'. All of the albums tracks were recorded utilizing various musicians and vocalists. A release date is being planned for late March on their new imprint, Retro/Active. The second licensed release is a VAN HALEN tribute by the name of Runnin' With The Devil. In other tribute news, the JOE SATRIANI tribute is completed and goes to mastering in the first week of February.
James Kottak has been keeping busy during his time off from the SCORPIONS, recording with his (and wife Athena's) band KRUNK, laying drum tracks for a BON JOVI tribute album, and playing on the solo album DOKKEN bassist JEFF PILSON is recording for Japan. Kottak has also been asked to play on former KINGDOM COME cohort LENNY WOLF's solo record, but isn't yet sure whether or not he will go to Germany to do so...
