New band FRAGILE MORTALS combines hip-hop legend Darryl "DMC" McDaniels (Run DMC) with metal group Generation Kill - vocalist Rob Dukes (ex-Exodus), bassist Rob Moschetti (ex-Pro-Pain, M.O.D.), guitarists Jason Trenczer and Jason Velez, and drummer Rob Youells. Their debut album The Dark Project will be released October 13th on Digital Launch via Entertainment One Music. It was produced by Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (ex-Guns N' Roses, Sons Of Apollo), who also loaned his musical talents to the full-length album, adding additional guitars, backing vocals, and a string quartet to round out and complete this original, diverse, experimental mash-up of many musical styles. "Having been the first hip-hop group to collaborate with a rock band with Aerosmith and 'Walk This Way', this genre has always been special to me," says Darryl "DMC" McDaniels. "Collaborating with two musical geniuses in Moschetti and Bumblefoot, and a great frontman like Dukes, makes Fragile Mortals everything I hoped for."
HALLOWED - a new collaborative brew between Iron Maiden and Robinsons Brewery is now available. Designed once again by Iron Maiden vocalist and ale aficionado Bruce Dickinson together with Robinsons' Head Brewer Martyn Weeks, Hallowed marks a break from tradition. At 6.0% ABV in 330ml bottle, Hallowed is the first Belgian style beer in the Trooper ranks and one of the first beers to be brewed by Robinsons that uses Belgian style yeast. John Robinson, Trooper Brand Manager, explains: "Crystal Rye gives Hallowed a blood red hue and a smooth dry finish. The Belgian style yeast we have used in this brew along with Noble hops combine to deliver a complex pallet of subtle banana and a sweet plum finish." Hallowed's innovative bottle label pays tribute to Belgian beer, presenting Iron Maiden's iconic mascot Eddie, robed in traditional monk's clothing: a nod to the Trappist monastic brewing tradition in Belgium.
