SONS OF APOLLO - former Dream Theater members Mike Portnoy and Derek Sherinian, Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (ex-Guns N' Roses), longtime HardRadio friend Billy Sheehan (The Winery Dogs, Mr. Big, David Lee Roth) and Jeff Scott Soto (ex-Journey, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force) - will be hitting the road in 2018 for their first-ever worldwide tour. As Mike Portnoy declares, "Ever since this lineup assembled to make Psychotic Symphony, the thing I've been most excited about is anticipating how insane I know this band is going to be on stage. Well, the wait is almost over! Here are the first US dates that will get to witness this 'five-headed musical spectacle' live on stage in February. We plan on being on tour all year long, all over the globe, with plenty of dates now being announced for summer festivals throughout Europe, but these are the very first shows that will get to witness this amazing lineup in person for the first time. We can't wait!" Check out Sons Of Apollo at any of the following stops, with more US shows to be announced in the coming weeks. In celebration of co-founder/guitar legend and longtime HardRadio friend KIRK HAMMETT's recent birthday (11/18), KHDK Electronics unveils the latest addition in their lineup of award-winning pedals. Inspired by their celebrated Ghoul Screamer, GHOUL JR is the tone lab's first mini pedal: small, but lethal. "Evil things come in small packages," commented Hammett of Ghoul Jr. Ghoul Jr is a hyper-powerful overdrive circuit coiled inside a micro-sized box, delivering massive overdrive with a bonus dose of gain that, incredibly, goes past 11. The glittering purple enclosure boasts a ghoulish face created by San Francisco tattoo artist Tim Lehi. To purchase Ghoul Jr, visit khdkelectronics.com.
Longtime HardRadio friend David Ellefson of Megadeth, via his label EMP Label Group, has announced the relaunch of COMBAT RECORDS - the seminal punk/thrash label that started Megadeth's career. Most will remember Combat Records as one of the seminal thrash labels of the 1980s, their most prominent artist being, of course, Megadeth. Combat was also home to Helstar, Circle Jerks, Exodus, Nuclear Assault, and many of the most influential metal and punk bands of all time. Says Ellefson, "To clarify, we do not own any rights to the Combat back catalog. That is owned, and controlled by Sony, and they have done a great job of curating it through other imprints. Combat Records will solely focus on new releases under the Combat banner. As always, thank you for your support, and stay tuned for more details!"
