Iron Maiden's NICKO MCBRAIN has announced the launch of his first drum store, NICKO MCBRAIN'S DRUM ONE. Located in Manchester, UK on the Trafford Park business estate, the store features Planet Paiste, the UK's largest dedicated Paiste show space and the Sonorsphere where customers will find the biggest selection of Sonor products in the country. All major drum and percussion brands will be stocked. Formerly Manchester Drum Centre, established since 1983, Drum One acquired the business on November 1st 2017. Nicko McBrain comments: "I am extremely excited to be a part of this wonderful adventure. It is a departure from my usual day job but nevertheless it is one that I am ready to take on. I'm so very grateful to Craig and Sam for giving me this wonderful opportunity to embrace and serve the retail side of the percussion world and YOU! IRON MAIDEN has taken on internet counterfeiters, accusing them of infringing the 'Iron Maiden' trademarks. The claim was filed on Tuesday, January 23rd at the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division. Iron Maiden said that the online counterfeiters are trading on the band's reputation and goodwill, and infringing on various US trademarks including the name 'Iron Maiden'. "Consumers have come to expect the highest quality from plaintiff's products provided under the 'Iron Maiden' trademarks." Iron Maiden sell band merchandise through their online shop. The band said that since the initial launch of the branded products, the band have continuously marketed and promoted the trademarks. According to Iron Maiden, the internet stores are designed to appear to be authorized online retailers selling genuine Iron Maiden products.
STONE TEMPLE PILOTS has announced a March 16th release date for its highly anticipated new self-titled album, Stone Temple Pilots. This marks the band's first album with the new lead singer, Jeff Gutt. Despite being one of the best-selling bands of the 1990s with platinum records and a Grammy to its credit, guitarist Dean DeLeo says, "We are thrilled about what lies ahead. The best way for us to honor our past is to keep making new music."
