"When you get bit by the charity bug, it makes you feel good. Anything that makes you feel good is addicting. And the more you do stuff like this, pretty soon you just say, I'm ready to dedicate my whole life to it," said SAMMY HAGAR on January 31st at The Avalon Theatre in Hollywood, California. The above quotation came from Hagar's acceptance speech, after Matt Sorum presented him with THE ADOPT THE ARTS HUMANITARIAN AWARD for his impressive work as a philanthropist. Kings Of Chaos, led by drummer Matt Sorum (Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver) took the stage that night to pay tribute to Hagar. Other Kings Of Chaos members include: Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), Billy Duffy (The Cult), Michael Anthony (Van Halen), Robert Deleo and Dean Deleo (Stone Temple Pilots), Steve Lukather (Toto), Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp), Phil X (Bon Jovi), Stevie Salas (Rod Stewart), and Franky Perez (Apocalyptica). Adopt The Arts is a 501(c)(3) non-profit funding arts programs in public elementary schools. Co-founded in 2012 by Guns N' Roses drummer, Matt Sorum, it is the mission of Adopt The Arts Foundation to bring together well-known artists, public figures, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and the general public to save the arts in America's public schools.

According to Metallica: "It's official! The Board of Supervisors from Alameda County has just proclaimed February 10, 2018, which would have been Cliff's 56th birthday, CLIFF BURTON DAY - reads a post on Metallica's Facebook page. "As many of you know, Cliff was born and raised in Castro Valley and was the reason we high-tailed it to the Bay Area back in '83. Thanks to all of the fans who got behind this initiative and we'd like to send our appreciation and respect to all of you who continue to honor Cliff in your own personal ways. We love that he remains so revered."

METALLICA NIGHT NUMBER SIX is on the calendar!," says Metallica. "On April 23, 2018 we'll take a quick break from the European tour to head back to the Bay Area and celebrate one of our favorite hometown traditions, Metallica Night at AT&T Park with the San Francisco Giants. Members of the band will be on hand to start things off right with the National Anthem and first pitch, sticking around all night to cheer on the team against the Washington Nationals.
