I'm not sure if all of these are 2004 releases (if not they were released very late in 2003), but here are the CDs that I've gotten this year that I would highly recommend:

IN ALPAHBETICAL ORDER:

-Amaran/Pristine In Bondage
-Beseech/Drama
-Black Sabbath / Black Box - The Complete Original Black Sabbath (1970-1978) (8 CD + DVD)
-The Duskfall/Source
-Iced Earth/The Glorious Burden (2 CD)
-Orphaned Land/Mabool : The Story of the Three Sons of Seven (2 CD)
-Therion/Lemuria-Sirius B (2 CD)

Midnight Sun:

I want to check out the Blaze, Edguy, and Dragonforce CDs.

I was thinking about the Velvet Revolver CD, but I am still undecided. They might fall into the Radio only category for me.

I have the WASP and Power Quest CD's but I'm vastly disappointed in each of them. I didn't like Neverworld at all after hearing the full set. The Neon God Part 1 - The Rise really only had one good song on it for me.

The Blaze is my fave of the 3. The Dragonforce was a huge surprise as their last one was mediocre. Edguy have joined the big leagues with HFC.

I was thinking about the Velvet Revolver CD, but I am still undecided. They might fall into the Radio only category for me.

It's good. But if you can get your hands on TMG1 skip VR altogether.

PQ: Skip the first track. It kills the flow of the cd.
Wasp: I like it. But as you can see it's at #9 Wink

The Neon God Part 1 - The Rise really only had one good song on it for me.
good lists, in this camp '04 thus far:

Into Eternity_BIO stands alone so far
Iced Earth_Glorious Burden obviosly
Evergrey_Inner Circle probably the most played
Cea Serin_Where memories combine could be near top
Machine Head_Thru Ashes of Empires
Tesla_Into the Now
Throne of Chaos_Loss Angeles rip it up
Wuthering Heights_Far from the madding crowd
Orphand Land_Mabool this is freightening good, what vibe
Pyramaze_Melancoly Beast

Blaze, TNT, Tad Morose, and Killswitch all lingering around...
2004 is a great year for metal, hands down will be best in some time.

Cannot wait for:
Pain of Salvation
Zero Hour
Shadows fall
Fates Warning
Angra
Mercenery
Testament
Enertia all easily could infiltrate the FALCON charts...

I don't know why, but this name makes me laugh. Might be because it reminds me of the Pyramonster on the back of American money.

My list of, say, 6 albums (say we're about 60% of the way through the year)...

Evergrey
Into Eternity
Amaran
Hypocrisy
Disillusion
Orphaned Land
