Who should Ozzy's next guitarist be??????????????????
First off, Sharon should NOT be involved in that decision. Sharon doesn't know picking a guitar from picking her nose. Except for the fact that she can make money off of people who do the former.
Please god, stop Steve Vai before he destroys yet another serious vocalist/artist (Roth, Bonnet, Coverdale).
Even if he would do it, Yngwie Malmsteen has no clue anymore what a good riff is.
Jake E. Lee -- if he would do it, sure. He was excellent with Ozz way back. But he won't.
Zakk Wylde? Not in his Wyldest dreams does this Alice in Chains copycat deserve that spot.
Marty Friedman: a good vote, but Friedman needs an angry vocalist like Mustaine. Ozzy is too happy these days for Friedman to feed off of him.
Tony Iommi: No. What they did way back was UNFUKKINBELIEVABLE. It doesn't need to be revisited. And it shouldn't.
George Lynch: No. In the absence of Hair Club for Men President Don Dokken, George suxx. George Lynch needs a dork in the room to piss him off.
Wolf Hoffman: As great as Wolf is, he ran out of riffs in 1988 or so.
Steve Jones: Interesting, but no. Ozzy needs a serious soloist. Steve wails on rhythm guitar, but not in the solo department.
Kirk Hammett: No. Ozzy should not tour with someone who takes that much zit medication. Or who has ever completely sold out.
David Gilmore: Damn -- close. But not energetic enough.
Ted Nugent: It would be fun, but no. Ted is a little too blues-based for what Ozzy needs today.
Vinnie Moore: Amazing musician, but he should stick to instrumentals.
David T. Chastain: bingo. It would be awesome. |

Ozzy wants to be contemporary and to have wide appeal. This has long been the case. So, if Zakk was out, a logical successor would be a guy who...doesn't solo. |

Just a few more mentions:
Joe Satriani - He has pedigree but shit songwriting skills...
Victor Smolski - Guitars & Keys??? Hmmm... Too classical...
Roy Z - Well, it worked for Halford but will Bruce let go of the guitarist who lays the golden albums?
Paul Gilbert - Great all-rounder but a bit weird... just like Ozzy!
Darrell Dimebag - Nooooo
But wait a minute I've got it what about Wes (ex-Limp Bizzkit)??? Just what the rock-svengali ordered! Perfect... No guitar skills, disgrunted wanabee teenager and tons of face-paint!
Seriously, I hope someone like Roy Z gets the job... |

Its kind of tough to guess what sort of guitarist he would get. After all, he needs someone with somekind of musical talent to leach-off of. That person needs to be able to whore themselves out and have no problem with getting ripped off when it comes to royalties, etc. And, they got to be able to pucker-up and kiss Sharon's ass because that is who is really running the show. Who ever the hell it is and whatever music they make, it won't be what it has been in the past. Otherwise, Ozzy may not get knighted by the Queen. Hey Sharon, take Ozzy off the fricken Prozac and bring back the mad man!!! Not your old man. |

From the Jerry Cantrell website (i think that's where I read it) it states in fact Jerry is recording with Ozzy as we speak. |
