I have the disc, and have seen them live at PP, but they do very little for me. Their songs tend to go on and on, without any real direction. That being said, I'll be curious to hear their next CD now that Corey Brown is a full time member.

Yea I would also have to agree, Redemption has all the goods, yet like most progmetal it will either HIT your or not, they seem to be great musicians, while from song to song nothing grabbed me, sorta disappointing disc, live they held their own and show some very strong shops... |

After a few listens...the first four songs - the "Desperation suite" - were awesome. Totally killer. I wish they could've kept up that momentum.
After that, it was drawn-out wank. "Something Wicked This Way Comes" was agonizing...24 minutes of tedium, broken up at about the 15-minute mark by a cool passage. Gives masturbation a bad name.
And Ray Alder is credited with backing vocals on "Synchronicity II"...isn't that a song by The Police?
Still...I'm glad I bought this just for those first four tracks. Excellent stuff. If this is still an active project, I hope they understand where they do well and where they don't. |

I agree that the first half of the CD is much stronger than then the second half, but wasn't quite as fond of it as you are.

"Agonizing" is a fair description. I tried to get through it... couldn't do it. Apparently, you are a stronger man than I.

I bought this disc off ebay about a year ago because I'm a big Fates Warning fan. It started off okay but then totally bored me. I agree with the good musician, but not good songs theory. |
