Probably not the best concert they ever put on... but it meant a lot to me. I saw the Scorpions with AC in 96. At the time I had to be broken out of the hospital because my Brother in law knew how much I wanted to see them and at the time we didn't know if I'd ever get the chance again. |

Seen a lot of great shows.
Musician wise, Pat Travers line up of Pat Thrall, Mars Cowling, & Tommy Aldridge always blew the headliner of the stage.
Legend wise it would have to be Led Zeppelin.
The most fun was at ZZ Top 1979. We rented a room adjacent to the arene & partied with Dusty Hill & all of "The Rockets," who opened up. Can't remember much though, we were all drunk, high & tripping....Ah, those were the dayz! |

The best shows I've seen, both for the visual aspect, the music and the performance of the musicians were the DIO shows from the Dream Evil and Sacred Heart tours in 1987 and 1985. Top notch vocals, great musicianship and killer visual effects with the big dragon and the lasers. In 1985, it was Twisted Sister opening I think and in 1987, it was Savatage and Megadeth.

With 25 years of concerts under my belt, I would have to say that the best show I have ever seen was Trans-Siberian Orchestra last year.
I had bought 2 tickets (for me and a date). Well, she dumped me, so I ended up going by myself (ate the other ticket). And it was still worth every penny. This year, I already have my tickets for the show, and got 3rd row!!!
Iron Maiden back in the 80's runs a close 2nd. |

Saxon - Killing Ground Tour 2002.
I convinced my brother that he should come with me to Cleveland to some small pub called Peabody's. Admission was 8 dollars. There were maybe 15 people there, and a small tshirt stand with one kind of Saxon Tshirt[the one with the eagle and the wheel on black]. We settled in close to the stage. I was pretty hyped up that week as I'd seen Manowar 2 days previous [also a good show, but not in the same league as this one].
The first band to come on was local, and they didn't overly excite us, but as my brother agreed, they were idiots as the guitar was so loud that it drowned everyone else out and gave everyone a headache. Sure the guy could shred, but there was no audible music to back it up.
Next came Breaker- the Accept tribute band. Hey not bad. I was digging the show and took some pictures. It's pretty cool when you can take pictures right at the front of a stage.
So then Saxon came on. I guess maybe you could say they don't have to worry about f**k things up if there are only 15 people in the audience. On the other hand- the fact that the band had so much energy and seemed to enjoy playing so much is impressive considering they can play to 20,000 at Bang Your Head or something over the summer and then come here and play in Cleveland to 15-20 people in April.
Saxon was spot on interms of there ability to play the old and new songs. Biff sung his head off, but was energetic and interacted with the audience. Paul Quinn was right in front of me playing some pretty cool solos and stuff. I've got these photos online: http://www.geocities.com/eisenheld/saxon.jpg and http://www.geocities.com/eisenheld/BiffByfordPaulQuinnandDavidshand.jp g
I believe they had the typical stuff with bass and drum solos, encores, etc. Just it was all played with such real enthusiasm and them being there right in front of it was really personal and cool. No stage shows or bullshit [which also had surprised me about Manowar a couple days before- who had no bullshit and I expected a lot from them]. Biff looked sure of himself and maybe even cocky, but they were into the fans. It was funny hearing 15 fans go crazy but people were really into it. There may not be many Saxon fans here in America, but they sure got into it. Some guys behind me yelled "747, 747, 747" over and over again until Biff said "I think we may end up playing some songs twice tonight." People were dancing- not just headbanging. What a lot of fun!
Setlist was awesome. I remember the following songs- Wheels of Steel, 747, Princess of the Night, Denim and Leather, Stallions of the Highway [or something from the first album that was pretty good- I didn't have that album and a couple of their others at the time]. Crusader [oh man was that awesome!], Eagle has Landed, 20,000 ft, Dallas 2pm, Solid Ball of Rock, Forever Free, Something from Dogs of War and the next couple of albums, and Court of the Crimson King. I think there may have been even more material, but I was not as familiar with latter day Saxon then as I am now.
These guys really have as much or more energy than a lot more critically acclaimed bands [both younger and older]. I'd really love to see them again. I hope they come back. Anyway it's a [10]. |

Anthrax when they played here in Chile as a replacemente of Iron Maiden that didn't wanted to play because the Pinichet-England-Spain incident.
Scorpions was also a fabulous show...those guys are just amazing.
Ronnie James DIO two months ago. That was Too much...Rudy Sarzo, Ronnie and drumer "Fred FLinstone" were amazing. Even a better set list.
Definitely the best. Even better than last maiden show.
I also enyoyed Dicikinson in the Accident of Birth Tour.
I have loved many others concerts actually...but I have to say that DIO was the best. DEFINITELY |

It will be cool if i could see any of this shows...
my best show was some local band, they played prety good.
but the only problem was the lyrics, why it has to be in hebrew?
nevermind, when i will grow up and save some money i definitely going to germany or some country with metal performance with couple of friends...
so i need couple of years to answer this post properly.
