This is one band I've never seen mentioned here. I saw them for the second time the other night, and as expected, they put on a totally insane, over-the-top show. There were a few media figures that were disemboweled and beheaded such as Ahnold, Paris Hilton, George Bush, and Osama Bin Laden (with lots of phony blood squirted into the crowd). They also had a Laci Peterson figure on stage that met the same fate, which I was offended by since in reality she was just an innocent housewife that didn't choose what happened to her. (They should have had Scott Peterson up there IMO.) And musically, they absolutely blew the roof off the place.
I've never owned a Gwar disc, but I'd like to check out some of their stuff. Any recommendations? BTW, Alabama Thunderpussy and All That Remains opened, and both kicked ass. |

I saw GWAR at the Chance in Poughkeepsie, NY in the late 80's. Boy, what a strange show. They had a guy in a Puff n Stuff type Priest costume come out and the singer jammed a huge cross up his ass. His ass proceeded to squirt blood all over us. Then they had a huge Penis ejaculate all over us too. The music was forgettable but the show scarred my mind for ever. |

I believe I have read that The Road Behind is highly thought of. All I know is that the title song is very good. Wouldn't mind seeing them live, but I doubt they would ever come here. |

Its GWAR'S world, they just allow us to live in it till its time to kill us all.
Ive seen them 4 times, they quite simply are the best live show there is.
You dont have to like there music to enjoy there shows. But as for me
i totally love there music. Then again im quite sick and not normal myself.
I have several shirts that are retired cause i dont wanna wash the gwar
blood off of them.
As for there cd's it depends on what kinda metal your into. They have
changed there style several times, now there back to straight ahead
hard metal. There new cd War Party is there best yet.
As for stuff from the past Scumdogs of the universe is a great cd
and funnier then hell. This Toilet earth and America must be destroyed
are both very funny and good cd's as well.
We kill everything and carnival of chaos are both must have's as well.
Also dont forget to check out
the Dave Brokie Experience, (thats Orderus)
his last solo cd songs for the wrong. is so offensive and brutally
funny that is almost embarrasing to listen to it, its that damn good.
Seriously you cant play it for just anyone, they will get offended.
with songs like "should the ugly girl blow me" and "hard for a tard"
it really isnt for everyone.
But again im sick and i love it. |
