|
|
I think it's been a long time since we've had any kind of fun banter around here. Been a member at this site for 10 years and I'm just curious to see the diversity in favorite metal bands we have at this site. Being a guy in his early 40's, my choices will probably be different than a kid in his teens, or even people older than me!
No bashing peoples choices. Just post your five most favorite metal bands (not necessary to list in order).
Here are mine:
1. Led Zeppelin
2. Iron Maiden
3. Tesla
4. Judas Priest
5. Dream Theater |

Always a worthy topic Swidman!
Hmmm, always a tough list to narrow down, but that's the game isn't it?
In no particular order: 1. Ozzy 2. Iron Maiden 3. Metallica 4. Judas Priest and 5. Rob Zombie
Honourable mentions to hard rock, borderline metal acts Thin Lizzy, Whitesnake and Van Halen.
Cheers! |

Megadeth
Diamond Head [so they only have 3 albums with the original line up. so what? Lightning to the Nations is amazing and so is Canterbury [even though Canterbury isn't very metallic]
Ritchie Blackmore [if I have to choose a singular project then I'll go with Rainbow I guess]
Black Sabbath [just so we can have it clear- Tony Martin Sabbath is the best. I'm tired of hearing anything connected to Ozzy]
Emperor [and Ihsahn in general]. |

not in any order:
Megadeth
Black Sabbath (any lineup but lean more towards Dio years)
Any band of Richie Blackmore (lean more towards Dio)
Iron Maiden
Triumph
funny that Dio did not make the list. IMO Dio's collaboration with guitar players outside of his band DIO, like Iommy and Blackmore have had better material. (Not that I do not like Dio solo stuff) |

1. Nevermore (been at No.1 for last five years)
2. Tesla (always in my IPOD)
3. Testament
4. Soilwork (newest and most current)
5. Symphony X
Previous it would have included:
Iced Earth, Corrosion of Conformity, and Pain of Salvation...losing luster a bit. |
