Not only supermodels and movie celebs retouch their images. Nope, even 46 years old metal guitarists gets a Photoshop diet.

The Swedish guitar hero, Yngwie have released a new album "Perpetual Flame" and W.T.F. did they think of. If you look at photos or interviews with him 15 years back in time you can see how beer-fat he really is. But not in a photo in 2008. ha ha

Good catch. I thought only insecure real estate agents posted their high school class photos for advertising themselves. So sad, he's a metal guitar god and feels his looks are still important at his age. Tsk, tsk.

He was recently on That Metal Show on VH1 and he really didn't look too bad in the mid section. Granted, that image is not quite what he looks like today, but he hasn't gone and done a complete Elvis on himself....yet Wink

Greetings Hardbordians...
Long time no see.

Musicians are part of the entertainment industry (and real estate industry) and anything that will help against the signs of father time is fair game.
There are pressures from the industry itself, self esteem, ego to maintain a certain 'look'. If it is by surgery or just making modifying pictures to sell sell sell.

Look at Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Crue, Kiss, Whitesnake and other bands, to me they look ridiculous.
Look at Vinny Appice with his extremely dark hair and David Coverdale with immaculate white teeth - not natural at all! and do they think we do not notice?

But either way, if musicians make changes to their bodies or photos we will notice.

I have read in many interviews how they fear to be considered "dinosaurs in the stage".

I had my reserves about Tim joining Yngwie, but now I'm convinced Ripper was what Malmsteen needed to beef up his music. I like the new album a lot.

Yeah I don't know man. I'm just irritated that any band would think that they make a good cover. I mean most of these guys' fans are men. They shouldn't have pictures of men on the cover; they should have naked women instead! Manowar knows what to do.

I'll make a deal with Malmsteen; next time you can put a picture yourself on the cover if at the same time lots of naked women are laying around. maybe even let the women play your guitar.
