This is a joke right? Some kind of sick, twisted joke? Cause this can't be true. No band can be THAT out of it to demand goverment intervention so they can get more moeny.

Good luck Lars. If your head goes far enough up your own ass, do you disappear? Or do you turn inside out? Guess we'll know soon.

I quote: "drummer for the heavy-metal band Metallica".

Heavy Metal?! Metallica? Not any more...

Lars still plays drums?

Can't we deport his ass? If he isn't pushing lame bands on mtv, he is whining to Congress.

Dear Lars Ulrich:

Enclosed is a large, sharp stick. Please impale yourself with it. Yeah, you know where.

Love,
Spirit

Lars Ulrich, drummer for the heavy-metal band Metallica, suggested that the U.S. Congress should step in to stop MP3-swapping services like Napster "before this whole Internet thing runs amok."

Ulrich made the comments, along with many others, during an hour-long Web chat on ArtistDirect.com, Metallica's first public interaction with fans since the band became the first to file suit against Napster.
[]
Known for spitting in the face of conformity and dominant institutions, Metallica during the fan forum argued for government intervention, sounding remarkably like middle-class parents trying to protect their retirement accounts.
[]
The intent of the Napster suit, explained Metallica bassist Jason Newsted, "is to spearhead some kind of activity within the powers that be – the government – to lay down the laws with the computer, to exercise some kind of control and govern the companies like Napster that steal outright from artists."
[]
"Metallica has always felt fans are family," said Hetfield, who stressed that the band has no problem with bootleg recordings of its concerts.

"Your family just got a lot smaller," responded a chat participant identified as "tinman."
