The entire first Body Count CD. Yeah, it's more metal than rap, but it's the best crossover between the two genres I've ever heard.

Yes, Congrats Iron on being only the 2nd person on this board to say anything positive about Body Count.

Man, how could you NOT? I picked up the first CD just thinking it was some sort of goof, like I'm the Man, but I was very pleasantly surprised with the level of musicianship on that album. The whole band really shines, especially Ernie C.

Incidentally, I had heard something previous to that featuring Ice T and Ernie C; it was a track called "The Girl Tried to Kill Me" that a roommate of mine had. It was rap, but the backing track wasn't a sample or a loop, it was some good Van Halen-style guitar playing: Ernie C. Check it out, if you can still find it.

Sadly, I believe Ernie C left the group, and Beat master passed away.

Hey, the ad banner has Christina Aguilara shaken her hips around. Cool!
Kid Rocks new song "American Badass" has the guitar riffs from Metallica's "Sad But True." It sounds pretty good.

Here's another related question to ponder. Who started the mall rock thing. Was it FNM's Epic...Anthrax doin I'm The Man...Biohazard....Rage Against The Machine? I'm thinkin right now the award goes to White Zombie. It seems like it all took off after that album. I realize it's not really rap, but maybe close enough to start something.
