What a tough question!! I'd have to go with Hendrix though. (As long as he came back in the style he left). But all the above were huge losses a great choices. Lets not forget Jim Morrison, Keith Moon, Janis Joplin and the boys from Skynyrd! (Oh, and Sam Kinison too)R.I.P.
Damn! I almost forgot Lennon!

Definitely Cliff Burton. He gave that band attitude. He wouldn't have let them become the sweater-knitting poodle walkers they are today.

Cliff Burton...'cause he seemed like a crazy enough S.O.B. who might have been able to keep Metallica focused and true to their name

I dont know If this has been posted or not, but I will give it a shot.
If you could bring back one dead rock/metal star who would it be and why?
My answer would be John Bonham b/c he was an excellent drummer who could still be contributing to the profession today.

I'd have to say Stevie Ray Vaughn, what a loss. |

Easy one. Philip Lynott. The man was a genius and his work was not done. I could not even imagine how incredible it would be to see Lizzy live one more time. Ok, I'm starting to get misty (sniff, sniff). |

How bout Jimi Hendrix. Would have liked to seen what he would have done into the 70's.
And of course, Cliff Burton, to see if Metallica could have stayed together and what they would have put out with him. |

Sorry, but I don't buy that for a second. Dollar signs change a person's style REAL quick. (See "Keel")

Whatever. You're assuming that everybody would do that if faced with the situation. Not everybody is like that. Some people have convictions. And Met made plenty of money, with continuing royalties, from their first 3 albums. I'm sure they made (and are making) a hell of a lot more than "Keel" will ever see.
