Nicko McBrain played on MAKIN' MAGIC and PUTTIN' IT STRAIGHT for Pat Travers, and
Tommy Aldridge played on HEAT IN THE STREET, LIVE: GO FOR WHAT YOU KNOW, and (I believe) CRASH AND BURN.
(GOF8 - Tommy did not play drums on BLACK PEARL. Sandy Gennaro did.) |

Bill Ward
Cozy Powell
Philthy Animal Taylor belongs to the 80's more than the 70's, but I'll give him a mention anyway since the monstrous Overkill album was recorded in '78/'79.
Tommy Aldridge, perhaps the best hard rock drummer of all time, belongs to both decades, but didn't really do any metal until the eighties. Black Oak Arkansas and Pat Travers weren't exactly metallers... They were/are superb hard rockers.
