Lockfist: So many boards we've visited around the net are simply ego strokes for the hosts. Here, we strive to let the music be the subject matter instead of how cool we are.
We've been pretty much hands off since launching this board way back when. The disputable things we look for are covered in the legal notice, mainly entries that drag the metal genre into the dirt. We certainly don't want/need any fanatical 3rd party group to see smut/hate/illegal files, etc. here and spread the notion of that is what metal is about. |

If you don't want hate attached to this board, the best thing to do would be to remove Godof80s and all his variations. |

I needed a little time to get together how I feel about all this. Certainly, I can live without political discussions unless they are about music. This would have been a nice outlet during all that PMRC garbage! And when Clinton first ran for office, does anyone recall Frank Zappa saying that he wasn't sure he wanted someone from the PMRC that close to that much power?
On the other hand, I don't mind some of the other none-music topics that have sprung up (favorite movies, books, etc.). It's nice to hear that others might have similar interests and it beats going to the profile area of each member since they don't offer every little fact about themselves.
Bottom line: music first, everything else in moderation. And with civility. |

Edison and Metalfilm must have sprung from the same skank. The only thing i hate is closed minded fuc=s like you trying to force YOUR opinions down people's hatches. I have NEVER forced my opinion on anyone - all i do is defend true Hard Rock and Metal and leave out the sucky grunge and post-grunge non-metal kiddie bands like Pearl Jam. Now i don't see that as a problem but i said it before and i will say it again...you want a war..you'll get a war motherf....

I'm not one for limiting speech, but some people post on this board not for discussion purposes, but solely for the purpose of disrupting the normal discussion that goes on here. I'm not sure this qualifies as "speech."
I will say this: the last time that the administrators allowed this type of angry, disruptive, hate-filled crap to exist on this board, remember what happened? Yes, those responsible TOOK DOWN AND DESTROYED THE ENTIRE BOARD.

MOP and DTFM say it well. I am getting tired of the immature and profanity laden posts by a certain minority of users. I think a warning is in order. IF it continues, I would suggest banishment. If not banishment, then you will loose 90% of your loyal followers. That I am sure. But then again, perhaps that is what they intend. |
