It's coming close to bonus time here, and Death is gonna be flush with some cold cash. Of course, wanting to spend it wisely, I thought I'd consult the experts to see what new releases are worthy of Death's bonus cash. (like how I refer fo myself in the third person, like George Bush does?)
In particular, I'm interested in views on the debut from Engine, the new Saxon, and Mogg/Way's new one "Chocolate Box." |

Death,
do yourself a favor and buy Children of Bodom's Hatebreeder cd, Primal Fear's new cd, and avoid Ratt's new cd at all costs! (unless your granny is visiting and needs something on the player to calm her nerves from you "damn kids". |

DTFM,
I saw that Bruce D. has a live CD "scream for
me" that is due out soon. I'm hoping that it is great. I'm waiting for the Trans-Siberian
orch. I think it will be out before the new Savatage. |

Hey DTFM, If you don't have it already, might I suggest picking up Metal Church's "Masterpeace" . IMO very good straight ahead metal. I am also looking for some good new stuff. I'm thinking about getting the new Testament or possibly that new Engine cd. For those of you who don't know, Engine is the new cd by Fates Warning's Ray Adler & Joey Vera. I saw it in the store the other but decided to get more info before plopping down my $14.99 + Tax. The local free heavy metal newspaper "Harder Beat" gave it a good review, but they also gave just about every other cd reviewed four or five stars, so I can't really tell.
Until next time, I remain

Hey again DTFM, I got on my Bat-Computer & went to cdnow. They have real audio clips of Engine and Children of Bodom. The Engine songs sounded like Heavier Fates Warning. I liked it! I think I might pick it up tomorrow! The C.O.Bodom songs were okay, I liked the epic melodies, but I hated the screachy vocals. I think I'll pass on em'. When I get more time I'll try to find that NWOBHM cd. Thanks for the link!

Death (or anyone else),
did you get Paul Raymond's Man on a Mission? I heard some clips off his website and it sounded pretty good. |

A friend just bought Engine and described it to me as "****ing good and ****ing heavy." I think that one's on top of the list. Plus, I love Ray Alder and Joey Vera. I mean, I don't love them in a Rob Halford kind of way (not that there is anything wrong with that). They're just two nice, talented guys.

I'm always looking for some new stuff but it does not come easy these days. Even when you read reviews you can't be sure because tastes are so different and there is a lot of stuff out there.
Personaly I love the new Primal Fear and recently I picked up two CDs from now dead Canadian band SWORD ("Metalized" and "Sweet Dreams"). If you like 80's metal a bit harder than Ratt and Def Leppard than you have to give SWORD a spin. Very, very good.
What do you guys think of RAMMSTEIN.

With your tastes its no wonder your closed minded comments!
I recommend you hear some heavy doses of SATANICBLACK!
And i also recommend the new Testament,Type o,Live Iced Earth,Nevermore,and W.A.S.P.
That is if you have even heard of these bands.(moron) |
