I think you guys are reading a tad too much into that. He was playing a rock ballad on an acoustic guitar. It hardly sounded like Nirvana.

Wasn't it the singer from Steel Heart who did some of the vocals? I know I read that. But anyways, it was allright. The thing that got me was the heavy symbolism surrounding taking a leak. Symbolizing a new beginning a spirtual awakening. I mean they do it 3 xs through out the film. That seemed a bit cheesy. |

I liked the movie until the end when he gets all pissed that Steel Dragon doesnt' want his songs and he then turns around & quits metal to become a grunge rocker which is pure horsesh*t cause the movie is set in 1986 and they had him at the end dressed like Kurt Cobain from MTV unPlugged & playing alt-rock like it's 1996 all over again only it's 1986. they portray him as an overgrown kid in the beggining and at the end he "grows up" and starts liking "mature grown-up things" cause as everyone knows rebelious rock & roll & following your dreams is for children who don't know how the real world works. Did I get the message of the movie right? |

I have to agree with Falcon on this one, Aniston just wasn't convincing enough for me. I noticed no one mentioned how it was loosely based on Judas Priest and the departure of Rob Halford and the search for a sound alike, Ripper Owens. I was disappointed that they made the character modeled after Halford act so gay. I mean I know he is, but I doubt it went down like that...I did love seeing a lot of the old 80's rockers we knew so well as band members, even if they couldn't act, it was worth it just for that...It's definitely one I'll add to my rocker and stoner movie collection!! |

I rented this a few weeks ago. I thought the first 30 minutes or so was kinda funny and fun to watch. It went a bit downhill from there. I didn't like Jennifer Anniston much. Overall, not a terrible movie but it could have been better. |

But the fact that he was in a Seattle coffee house leads me to believe that our readings were quite accurate. |

Exactly. That part of the movie offended me. I liked the movie for the music and all up until tha point. It ruined the entire thing for me. I don't see how any metalhead would see that as anything but a slap in the face. |
