I thought Metallica's first Garage Days was great.

Pink Floyds "Time" was covered by Wrathchild America and I thought it was acceptional.

Mal. Creation cover's of Slayer's "Piece by Piece" and "Raining Blood" were very good.

Scatterbrain done "Earache In My Eye". I thought it was hilarious but good.

Genitorturers done "I Touch Myself" kinda weird but cool.

Iced Earth doing Kiss's "God Of Thunder".

Death "Painkiller". Sorry but I like it.

She's Too Tough is not cover.

ACTION and ONLY AFTER DARK are the only covers on the retroactive album.

She's Too Tough was written by Joe Elliott, but he gave it to Helix and they actually recorded and released it prior to Def Leppard releasing their version. LOL, I really don't know if that is considered a cover or not?
Same thing happened with Miss You in a Heartbeat. Phil Collen wrote it, then Paul Rodgers' band The Law recorded it in '91, and Def Lep put it on Retroactive in '93.

Desslar,
the same thing happened to poor Russ Ballard. The guy has written hits like "Since You been Gone" (Rainbow), "New York Groove" (Ace Frehley), "God Gave Rock And Roll To You" (Kiss), "Into the Night" (Frehley's Comet)... but never really made it for himself.

Wow! You learn something new everyday. I had no idea that "Gonna Get Close to You" was a cover. Who originally recorded it?

My vote, Nevermore's "The Sound of Silence".
