. . . well, not really.
The other day here in Mass, a State trooper named Ted Nugent hit a deer with his car. I couldn't beleive the damage this deer did. The whole front end was crushed as well as some of the back. The only thing I can think is that the car hit the deer then hit something else like a tree or guardrail.
I remember I was with my dad when he hit a deer with his 1970, or so, 8 cylindar chevy chevelle and the deer just broke apart into a million pieces all over the hood and wind shield of the car. As a ten year old it was pretty crazy. It just sounded like a whole bunch of wood logs were thrown at the hood of the car. We were driving at about 35 or so and there was hardly any damage to the car but the deer was laid to waste in a pretty bad way. |

When I was 18, I hit a deer at about 50 mph with my '83 Cutlass. It totally demolished the front end of the car so badly that the headlights ended up pointing across each other. The car was totalled. I went through a bit of a dry spell from '90-'96 when I had my Barretta. Thank God, b/c hitting a deer in that thing would have been the end of the car and probably me too. I've had my Jeep Wrangler since 1996 and have hit 2 deer so far with it. Once with minimal damage to the front grill, and the other time with no ill effect (to the jeep I mean, the deer was ill effected all to hell).
I also hit my friends dog once. It was his (the dogs) fault. He was okay though, but he knocked out the headlights in my car and I had to get it fixed. That was a hard headed dog. |

Maybe Mr Nugent was driving a little faster. I have a friend that hit a deer and it messed up her car. Maybe it was a bigger deer. |

I wonder how much it hurts to get torn apart by a car like that. I can't even imagine. |
