I'm just curious about this disc as I've heard mixed reviews here. I've only heard a few songs off of the disc and like what I've heard. I thik there's 20 or so songs alltogether which is a hell of a lot of material.
I just recently picked up Night at the Opera. For the most part I like the songs but every song except for the bonus track is over 5 minutes long. Sometimes the long songs can be a bit much as with much of their material, but since I like the Lord of the Rings story, I'm assuming I'll enjoy the Blind Guardian release. |

Most people who liked the new one, liked NFIME just as much. Myself, I don't really like NFIME at all - I can't really say why their sound doesn't come together for me on that disc while it does on ANATO, but doesn't it does (uh...gimme a break, I should be sleeping).
BTW, NFIME doesn't really have twenty songs - half of its tracks are spoken-word interludes, I think averaging about forty seconds apiece. |

i liked Nightfall. coulda done without the spoken word parts, but the songs themselves are good.
the songs feel more complete here than a Night at the Opera. at least to me it does. so i guess i am in disagreement with T-rabbit. |

I could'nt agree more with the last 2 posts. The spoken word passages totally ruin what would otherwise be a half decent disc.Imaginations from the Other Side is their most straight 4ward cd.I'd reccomend it over Nightfall.Try burning Nightfall with the passages deleted and you'll find it a more pleasurable listening experiance. And while we're on the Blind Guardian subject.Does anyone else think that some of their tunes sound alot like the mortal Combat theme song? And does anyone else think A Night at the Opera is way over produced and layered? Leaving the cd a little hard to listen to at times.Just some thoughts.Care to comment? |

I like NIME but not as much as IFTOS or ANATO. I value the concept of the album regarding "The Silmarillion" saga, and a couple of songs are fantastic: 'Time Stands Still (at the iron hill)', 'Into The Storm' and 'Mirror Mirror', but it lacks the potency of its predecessor and succesor. |

The spoken word parts detract from the CD, for me. That being said, it's a good disc. However, I still prefer "Imaginations" and "ANatO" over it.

I absolutely love "Nightfall in Middle Earth". One of my favorite power metal albums ever!!
Yes, there are some spoken word parts, but unlike most bands BG do NOT put these in the middle of real songs. They are always separate tracks, so there's a little button on your controller that looks something like this: >> which allows you to skip over these tracks and get back to the real songs, which are truly awesome. |
