...reminds me that he's almost certainly the best hard-rock singer working today. Wow. Wow.
Though half of this is cover songs. Some are really good (Journey, Deep Purple), some are...not (Foreigner). That Journey song is so damn good it makes me regret trading off that 3-CD greatest hits of theirs. Though it turns out it wasn't on there anyway.
The originals are pretty damn good too. He's wasting his talent in Masterplan (I hesitate to say he's wasting his time...it's probably the biggest payday he's ever had).
He's got a third solo album out this year, but I don't know when. What I know is...I want it.
Damn you, Father Time! I'll make you my bitch yet!!! |

Couldn't agree more. I realize the man has to make a living. However, from a pure music perspective, he went from one of the top, if not the top, Prog Metal band on the planet, to a dull, generic Power Metal band. Quite a shame.

Jorn always likes to roam along musical experiences. The Company Of Snakes, Millenium, Mundanus Imperium, Beyond Twilight, Ark, Masterplan, his solo career.
His departure of Ark was sad indeed, but Masterplan is a great band, one of the best offerings of 2003 and I expect more from them,,along with Jorn's new solo album in a couple of months. |

The booklet of Masterplan doesn't claim Jorn as a permanent member, maybe they won't keep him.
I'm just looking forward to when Uli Roth finally comes out with Requiem for an Angel. Jorn Lande is reported to sing vocals on that album. That's a great matchup. Uli can certainly write and play and Jorn can definitely sing. I bet it doesn't come out for years though, and when it does it will not get any attention because Uli isn't very marketable in this country. A real shame. |

A "great band"? Really? Hey, to each their own. Different things resonate with different people, and I respect that. But Masterplan seems so generic, so unoriginal, I'm surprised that anyone would describe them as a "great band".

I've thought about getting Starfire but was leery since it was mostly AOR covers. |

Starfire is the worst thing Jorn ever put out.Terrible production and mostly weak songs.
I was very diapointed in it after hearing Worldchanger 1st.I'm sure his next solo effort will be a good one though.Looking4ward to it. |

Out to Every Nation is pretty damn good stuff, I'm not sure if it's quite up to Worldchanger and won't for awhile yet until I log more miles with it. It's very similar in style and his vocals rule per usual, the disc comes out late April on AFM Records. |

Like Zod said to each his own. "Starfire" is a wonderful album, 'Starfire', 'Edge Of The Blade' and 'The Day The Earth Caught Fire' are songs with more grip, feeling, melody and harmony than most music from the 3-4 bands usually discussed in this forum. |
