One can only hope for good things, if in the end, he really does team up with Poland. |

Rust in Peace. Without a doubt. Second for me would probably be Cryptic Writings. |

As a diehard Megadeth fan, I think I understand and agree with most of your opinions.
Lately i followed the band and checked for news on the site. And althought it is not posted, as recently as FEbruary Dave mentioned that he was indeed playing again and was attempting a reunion with MArty and Nick.
He concluded they weren't available, but he had gone to the studio for an official "Megadeth" album. Apparently the material is either unfinished songs or never released material from all albums. IN the studio is Dave and Poland, along with 2 other musicians.
Although I think there will ne some kind of reunion, i think it will end up being a cross over line-up. But seriously, the best thing is to see them play live again, Dave is tight and the songs are classic.
THere is a message from Dave at the website, with a nice sounding riff from the new stuff. I for one would not hesitate to purchase it regardless of where the style ends up.
I definately loved everything up to RISK. And even then, i would put RISK at a 7 and Hero at 8. Altho the music isnt as heavy, its still great. I especially like Warhorse and Disconnect from Hero and think they would have been perfect on the live album. In time that album has a great sound that grows on you.
Anyway, here is the link to the message.
