I have been very busy and not had the time to visit your board for a few monthes. Now that I have a moment, I can see you've made some changes which look nice.

I see that you have a new rating system and I gave some high marks to people with whose viewpoints I agree.

Is it also acceptable on this board to give low marks to people whose opinions one does not share? Or should we just leave those people alone?

Also, what about the people who have no "rate member" option and from my point of view who seem to be little more than trolls? Is there a way to rate them, too?

I think that if you have a low rating than you won't be able to give somebody else a 5 rating. If you have a high rating like a 5, than you'll be able to vote somebody a 5. I've seen people who have only had like four or five threads get a 5 guitar rating. Must of been some good discussion on their part.

The number of guitars is an average of what you've been rated by others. On your own profile, you can see exactly what your rating is - for example, mine barely rounds up to a 5 at 4.57.

It's essentially a popularity meter. AND I'M THE MOST POPULAR GIRL AT THE PROM HERE BABY

Hey, I may be a orc but I'm not a troll!!!
I turned off the rate member option only because I don't really like the idea of a rating system. I can read posts from the 1 or 2 guitar rated members and get just as much information as I would from a 4 or 5 rated member. It all depends on what someone has to offer and if that information is useful to myself. Sometimes I feel these types of ratings are more of a popularity thing where the true quality of a member and his/her posts may not be accurately represented. There are so many ideas and good information flying around here that some people may not agree with the majority vote of a member and actually find an individuals posts with a 2 rating informative.

I've been on this board for about one and a half years and I like to think that at least 75% . . . well, 50% . . . maybe, 11% of what I post is somewhat informative, entertaining, etc.

btw, I had a 5 rating at the time I disabled the function, so I'm not just some guy bitching because my rating was low.
