To my understanding this is a MUSIC hardboard, not a hardboard for pornography. Some of the things I have read are out right disgusting to say the least. What you do in your private life is your business whether it be boinking with a man or a woman, leave it in your private life and off the hardboard. I am new here and I didn't choose to come here for this crap. Rockangel said it right, things posted like this makes us new people who are interested in new music sounds or new bands, want to just say hell with it and not come back. I choose to give it one last try before I decide to leave, especially since I've heard such good things about the Hard Board. I apologize to everyone else for my first post to be a nasty one. So let's try this again. Hi everyone I am Janette, Lev's wife. Pleasure to be aboard! :-)

When one goes to Hollywood, there is a certain sexuality/mentality which is accepted among "stars," and certain ones which are not. This is the truth. You may wish to believe the world is an objective place full of unbiased people, but it is not in my view. That view is what I call a traditional heterosexual view of reality. You may call such a comment pornography, and yet I read your comments as pornography as well. I do think it should be more clearly stated than it has been so far in parts of this thread, that yes, non-traditional people, whether untraditional hetero or homo people do sing about other things than sex, just as traditional hetero people do. I am sorry if this is not clear to you yet. I hope that is becomes clear. It is amusing because I often think traditional hetero people are more hung up on sex than anybody. After all, they censor and exlude it from everything like it is some big deal, so big that is doesn't even have any bearing on music!

You know I had no Idea Rob Halford was Gay,nor do I care even though I think homosexuality is Imoral, heres why he didnt advertise the fact he was like Rosie, ellen degeneris or anne heche but wait anne wasnt really gay since she just got married to a man kinda proves my ITS A CHOICE theory.I didnt go out and burn Judas Priest cds.
Like I said I dont care if a persons gay,but it is disheartning that one of your Idols may be but in Halfords case this doesnt mean he hasnt given something to society.

Rob Halford would likely be a total unknown playing "bad music," as I mentioned before, had he said so, even though the contributions of Halford to metal are clearly beneficial to many worldwide. The point of denying any worth is a sad fact. One would get more respect if one were an emotionally weak person. There would be no relative stigma attached to that whatsoever. Do we just prefer crippled people with problems over sexual healthy people? I find it perverse.
Really, it isn't just about gays. I myself have yet to try this gay sex thing. It just hasn't happened. I don't go out of my way to be gay or not. My concern is with the false importance/oppression placed on sexuality as you seemed to mention. Sexuality is a quite broad term. To censor it, is to attack many NATURAL things in life. The stigma fears the nude human body as though it were a foreign object from outer space, it creates the crime of being a young person, the crimes of joyous "noise"/beahvior at work or school even when the perpetrators are in control of themselves, the crime of transvestism (which is a natural phenomenon in my view). It replaces these facotrs with authoritarianism over people, which is a vibe that goes through work and school with a person to person disrespect I can't believe. It even affects what time a person wakes up to go to work as far as I'm concerned. I insist sex phobia is the modern day foundation of existence, including the international war which accompanies it. It is sexy phobia. Sexy phobia is like natural phobia as far as I am concerned. The whole phobia is creating emotional and physical illnesses everywhere. I am not suggesting people behave as sexual predators, as exclusively metal has done in some posts here(despite making valuable contributions, but really this is a different problem that comes from repression or misunderstanding, not natural sexuality. I do believe he is just an amateur on the topic, but he is a good guy and I would be glad to date, but not for sex, just dinner, metal and conversation). I am not saying have sex with everyone you meet. I am just saying that individuals have the right to be what they are amongst themselves. I do not see, if someone is so secure with what they are, why they should much care to stop the ongoings of others. The impositions are the true subject of debate as far as I am concerned. These are the foundations of war, as sexuality permeates everything a person is in my view.

Gay metal? Why not, there are so many idiotic tags out there, that one more, who cares.

The fact is:

- if the music is good, and you don't mind the lyrics or the attitude, then hear it,
- but if you want the music, the lyrics, and you expect some attitude from the band, then look somewhere else.

I don't mind Halford been gay, his music is great. On the other hand I hate the Indigo Girls, so it not about sexual orientation is about if we like the music and more. I hate Marilyn Manson, I hate Black Metal, their attitude and lyrics overcome whatever proposal their music can have, so I don't hear it.
I don't mind lyrics which have some substance, even if they represent some positive ideology, philosophy or belief (like 'Blow me a kiss' by Alice Cooper), but to turn the whole subject of the band into a crusade for some cause, forget it, I rather stick to dragons and knights, or some other purposeless subject, at least is funny.
