I think people see/ hear what the news outlets have to offer and draw conclusions based on the sensationalism portrayed by the reporter/ news person, etc. I think people for the most part think that racial profiling is cops looking into the window of a car as it drives by and then turning on the sirens and lights when he see's that he is a black man driving. While there may be a few bad seeds (cops) who practice this, that is not what racial profiling is all about.
Yup. We can thank our liberal media for this type of mis-information. They don't report the facts as they are, they report them with a spin. Sadly, people don't seem to want to take the effort to form their own opinions and just accept what the talking head on the news tells them. (Not meaning anyone here, b/c I think even dissenting opinions in this debate have been well thought out) |

If the media is so liberal, why do we see and hear so many conservative pundits and commentators on the air? Turn on the radio and all you hear are Limbaugh clones. |

I don't really notice that, but I really wish I did! Usually I hear people taking the "politically correct" point of view. Especially on CNN. MSNBC is a bit better, but still the media to me seems very leftist. It's a much better story to say "People are unemployed b/c the government isn't taking care of them" than to say "People are unemployed as the consequence of their own decisions", for example. |
