I caught the sneak perview last night and well it's a solid remake. The core story was updated along with the infamous courtroom sequence (but not played with the same intensity as Joe Don Baker in 1973).

For the most part The Rock (as listed in the credits) plays it straight. Only one wrestling move occurred during a fight sequence. Johnny Knoxville got a few laughs as the sidekick.

I'll probably check it out when it hits Blockbuster. I just can't see The Rock playing Buford Pusser (sp?). The original Walking Tall was a classic though. Selmer, Tennessee, where the actual events took place, still has a lot of his things set up like he left them. I think his office is still set up, patrol car, marked parking space, etc.
