First learn to play, save and buy your own equipment and THEN worry about starting a band. Seems like you have things a bit ass-backwards there, "metalmaster". Anyways, there aren't many musicians out there that would "donate" their equipment that they saved and slaved for to someone who doesn't know how to play an instrument yet. |

Go to Guitar Center and get a used guitar. They sell them pretty cheap there. I got mine for 70 bucks. It isn't a terrific instrument but it plays well enough [Bronze series BC Rich Warlock]. If you are strapped for cash I'd recommend just buying one used like that. I mean it's still going to work fine if it's used. Then I'd get some cheap amp and practice a lot.
I always wanted a band, but it never has really happened. I've jammed a bit and have a 4 track I mess around with, but I mostly just mess around. It's fun just doing that I think. Some guy told me one time he played guitar for a year and that he was already bored. I think some people have ridiculous expectations of the thing. Unless you have a lot of natural talent [and even if you do] you will need to practice a lot. Sure, if you buy a distortion pedal and crank up the volume with power chords it sounds nice, but a band won't play with you if you suck unless they are your friends [although I've tried playing with friends and they sucked so I stopped playing with them]. |
