Maybe three songs really worthy of Worldchanger, otherwise a little hit and miss - particular misses being songs like "Behind The Clown" (starts with a horrible title and doesn't get much better) or the total cheese "Rock Spirit".

On the plus side, it does have the most bizarro lyrical metaphor I've heard in a while ("I'm like a spaceship trapped inside a giant spider web" - what the HELL?!?!?). Jorn sounds great, and I appreciated the greater emphasis on guitars, both in soloing (excellent!) and riffage.

Better than Masterplan...but not by a whole hell of a lot.

Hmm, maybe it'll grow on me. But I wouldn't bet on "Behind The Clown" or "Rock Spirit" ever doing it.

What I like the most about this board is to find out how many people disagree with me and give a chance to rant.

The album is very good but never as good as Masterplan (stop using crack), but a very nice effort nevertheless. Much more prog oriented than its predecessors, the band at hand amnage to pull a sometimes melodic, sometimes atmospheric solid rock album. 'Rock Spirit' is one of the best songs a great rocker, also 'Out To Every Nation', 'Young Forever', 'Living With Wolves' and 'When Angel Wings Were White' are great songs win which not only Jorn shows his vocal talents but the rock is fresh and melodic like it should be.

I'm really glad you and GZ are around, you always crack me up failing to recognize the greatness of music coming up. Wink

"Michael (Schenker) wants to rock!!"

'Rock Spirit' is an amusing song. I think 'Behind The Clown' is a fairly decent ballad. The better songs are 'Young Forever', 'Out To Every Nation' and 'Living With Wolves'.

Out To Every Nation has grown on me and is near the name level greatness as Masterplan, but Jorn had set the bar with Ark - Burn The Sun.

I love the new Jorn album. In some ways it's even better then Worldchanger(some better riffs, heavier). I couldn't stop listening to it when I first got it. It'll definitely make my top 15 for 2004.

I fall on the positive side of the fence for this one too. I thought Behind the Clown was actually pretty good, and excellent change of pace.

Rock Spirit is pretty bad though, I have to skip it every time it comes on...maybe because my real name is Mike, I dunno.

When Angel Wings Were White is really cool when it kicks in. Kind of "Goddy," but thats a good thing now and then.

You nearly made me choke on the pretzel I was eating when I read this. Pretty funny.

I personally like Masterplan better than the new Jorn, but not better than "Worldchanger".

I like "Rock Spirit". The lyrics are kinda awkward, but the song's pretty cool imo.

I saw it months ago in Korea but passed on getting the cd. The whole Jorn thing is quite overrated. Masterplan was a disappointment and Ark was only slightly above average.
