Had a pretty good time tonight. Was kinda wondering what it would be like having 3 new guys play, but they sounded like Megadeth. Everything was played right, all the solo's and whatnot else.
The opening band came out at 8 pm, they were a band called Earshot. ONce my ears caught " earshot" of them, I was somewhat disgusted. They sounded like one of those bands on extreme radio, with no solo's, no melody, and a bad singer. Some of the younger crowd liked them, but I didn't. Their drummer was actually quite good. He looked like he belonged somewhere else though, say, like on a bowling team. Didn't look like he fit in with the 4 others.
Megadeth came on somehwere around 9pm. The started with Skin O' My Teeth, then played Wake Up Dead. At this point, Dave says " This next song I wrote about a little Danish piece of crap I used to play with Years ago". I was laughing my ass off on that one..
Somehwere in hte middle, when the lights came up, Dave came down to the tip of the stage, and saw someone with a Kerry/Edwards T Shirt on. He said " you f**k' tree huggers " then went into the song.
I didn't, but should have, taken a pen and paper with me to get the set list down in order, but here's what they played..
Kick the Chair, Something I'm Not, Die Dead Enough, Trust, A Tout Le Monde, I thought I knew I All, & 2 others from Youthanasia , Skin O My Teeth, Symphony, Sweating bullets, Holy Wars, Hangar 18, Tornado of Souls, In My Darkest Hour, Wake up Dead, Peace sells, and Angry Again.
They didn't play anything from Risk nor The World needs a Hero .
All in all, its was a great time. I saw it at The Joint @ the Hardrock Casino here in town. They have a notoriously loud system, and all the high end stuff just ends up sounding like really deafening, but it sounds that way for any band that plays there.
well worth my 22 bucks. |

I'm surprised Mustaine said what he said. I always thought he was a Democrat. Now he's saying he's voting for Bush. |

I always thought so too. That's weird. Well even democrats and republicans can decide they don't like their candidate.
Thanks for posting this, I forgot to ask for time off on that concert day. I'm definitely going to be there. |
