Well you might be too young to appreciate Priest. Or, what AOR means to those older than 30.
To my ears Damageplan was uninspired and sadly average. Maybe with more time on songwriting and less boozing the music would not have suffered. Now theres no chance of a second one. Anthrax? Well they lost their edge 10/11 years ago.
I'd give it a 7.5, maybe an 8. The more i listen to it, the less i think of it actually. It's just full of metal cliches.. a good reunion album, but it doesn't try to break any rules. I'll take the damageplan or the last anthrax studio album over this anyday.
|

yeah this is truely the real thing. great musicianship.
"Angel" is such an emotional song (and i like those...reminds me "the price"-yeah again that song, though it sounds totally differnt)
It's not that something wrong with his voice I just think he sings less those high pitch notes. |

I actually think angel is the weakest track on the album. Other then that I think it's a good album. |

I will give it 8.5. maybe Nwobhm is right and it doesn't really break any rules but it's pretty good.
I don't think "Angel" is the best ballad ever but it a very good one. |

Angel sounds a lot like Arc Of Space on Bruce Dickinson's Accident Of Birth album. Still, a good ballad. Hellrider is cool, but why these thrashy drums. They try to sound contemporary (again), but it just doesn't suit the Priest. |

I need to listen to it more, but for now, I think a lot of the songs have quite a strong "Halford" (the band) feel to them, and Judas Rising sounds like something that could have been on Ram It Down. Another thought on Judas Rising is that I get a slight Manowar feel from some parts of it. |

I listened to the CD for the first time today!
Superb album. However, am I the only one who didn't care all that much for Lochness? |
