KK/Glen.. The best ever.... Judas Priest were the first to come with the idea of two guitarist (correct if i'm wrong...because i'm not sure)...

followed by Dave/Marty (Megadeth, especially the "RIP" era)
then
Kerry/Jeff (Slayer)
Adrain/Dave (Iron Maiden)

Thin Lizzy had it at the same time 1974 with Scott Gorham and Brian Robertson on Nightlife [Gary Moore also contributed some to that album].

Scorpions had the duo thing going on their first album in 1972 with Michael Schenker and his brother Rudy.

Blue Oyster Cult is the earliest I can think of at the moment though I'm sure someone had it earlier [Steppenwolf and Lynyrd Skynyrd?]. Blue Oyster Cult's first album came out in 1971, and they had 2+ guitarists.

Wishbone Ash had the twin lead guitarist thing goin on way back in 1969
and I believe the Allman Brothers had it the year before. At a very brief time the Yardbirds had both Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck together playing on the track "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago" before Beck left the group.
So I think they would be one of the earliest.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned Mark Morton & Willie Adler from Lamb Of God! If you haven't heard them yet, give them a listen and thank me later.

Maiden duo gets my vote.
Murray/Smith (sure why not get Gers in there too)

As for any new up and comers (l.o.g., shadwos fall), the thinking is some of us would like to hear a few more year just in case they pull a Hetfield/Hammett (Metallica) stint.
