Obviously, we HardBoardians are scattered all over the globe. What's the radio situation where all of you live? Are the airwaves in your area a barren wasteland of pop and easy listening, a rock-rich haven of hard music or somewhere in between?

Here in New Jersey, things are pretty grim, but I've managed to find two very good rock stations that play everything from Pink Floyd to Ozzy Osbourne to Soundgarden. They are:
102.7 WNEW, "The Rock of New York." Their airstaff is REALLY irritating, but the music is more than worth it.
105.5 WDHA, "New Jersey's Own Rock Radio." I just found this one a little while ago and it's already proven itself worthy of my eardrums.

About the best station I have locally is http://www.realrockfm.com/. They play anything from classic rock to new rock (surprisingly this does include some metal). Also Bob and Tom in the mornings for a f--king laugh a minute.

There is another station but they only play classic rock which is all fine and dandy but I don't want it shoved down my throat. I mean you can only hear "American Pie" so many times before you want to rip your ears off.

Regrettably, Spirit, 102.7 has changed format to become a talk station. I believe the Saturday night metal how is still on, but I am not sure. In Any case, if you are in New Jersey how could you overlook 89.5 WSOU, Seton Hall's pirate radio!!!

Metalfilm: So THAT's why they don't play any music in the morning anymore! *scowl* Man, and 102.7 had such a great selection. *indignant snort* Well then. As for, 89.5 FM, I'm not sure if that station comes in very well in my area, but I'll definitely check it out. Thanks!

Well, you guys in New York get to listen to Tom Leykis now....Rejoice! I don't know what else is on that talk radio station, but guys, give Leykis a listen.

*Important* If you haven't heard him before, make sure you tune in on either a Thursday or a Friday for your first taste. It's a trip.

Leykis 101, baby...

Don't feel bad ScorpionsFan I've had that happen to me a couple of times before.

Remember BIG BROTHER is watching.

Yes I agree with OverMuch on that one. However, if you're easily offended, you might not like him. He tells it like it is. I like him.

Not Man - thanks.. I think what irked (is that a word?) me the most is that it wasn't even a bad word (as in a cuss word). But I think I figured out why.. so I just decided to delete the whole post. And you aren't kidding about Big Brother
