Greatest hits packages shouldn't count. Let's just do new material, not re-hashed or re-digitally re-mastered re-releases or re-boxed sets. It'll be tuff enuff to pick 20 as it is. This'll take some thought but it gives me an excuse to re-alphabetize my CDs. |

No re-issues. No greatest hits. Only material that was originally released in 1990-1999. What about live albums containing pre-1990 material? |

No way, live albums are only the first step to leech more money and then do a greatest hits. |

2)Dream Theater - Images and Words
3)Dream Theater - Awake
4)Dream Theater - Change of Seasons
5)Dream Theater - Falling into Infinity
6)Dream Theater - Scenes from a Memory (sense a pattern here?)

13)Megadeth - Countdown to Extincton
14)Megadeth - Youthanasia
15)Pantera - Cowboys from Hell
16)Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss
17)Slayer - Divine Intervention
18)Slayer - Diabolus in Musica
19)Testament - The Gathering
20)And because I can't think of anything else and just to shock people, and also because I'm listening to "Promises" right now, #20 will be Def Leppard's Euphoria.
As for the top 5 live acts:
1) MetallicA's on the PoorTouring Me Tour (I know, I know, but they do put on a good show)
2) Iron Maidens last tour with Bruce (Raising Hell Vid)
3) Judas Priest's Meltdown tour
4) All OZZfests
5) And because I went to this show and paid an outrages $47 buck, but it was worth every penny because it rocked so much, way more than MetallicA's show (I was on the floor this time) Motley Crue's Greaest Hits Tour.

It's time. Post right here your top 20 albums of the 1990s. They don't have to be in any order. They don't even all have to be heavy metal. Just the 20 damn best slabs of digitally-encoded plastic released since 1990.
For fun, add your top 5 live shows of the 90s, too.
Mine? Give me the weekend to think about it and I'll report back by Monday.
And Matt, I said TWENTY (20).

Okay, but do greatest hits material from how do you say, the 80's count? For instance Wasp's greatest hits released in 93. |
