I don't know if all you other metalheads out there think that Sevendust rocks as hard as I think they do, but I have just one question about them. Why the hell is everyone labeling them "Rap Metal"?? I don't even hear the slightest inspiration of rap in any of their their songs. Just because the lead singer is black doesn't mean he is a rapper. He has one of the best voices in rock today. Please help me out here if you understand why people are labeling them this. |

The only reason I can think of for them being labeled ``RAP METAL``is the fact that their music is heavily groove oriented and it can only help the band if they are pushed as something that is popular now. What I wished would have happened would have been for this ``RAP METAL`` thing to have kicked in about 5 or 6 years ago because then instead of LIMP BIZKIT and KORN representing metal in the 90's we would have bands like BIOHAZARD and LIFE OF AGONY which I would consider to be a much better representation of how that type of music should be done.``How It Is``blows away anything by LIMP BIZKIT.Another thing is that SEVENDUST really does have their own sound, but what good does that do them if they aren't linked together with bands that are in the current trend. They have to label them something.Don't they?Anyway let them label them that and we can sit back and watch SEVENDUST blow LIMP and KORN out of their current positions as the kings of"RAP METAL".Because the best of the bunch will rise to the top ,so that obviously that would mean SEVENDUST.I just wished they had some solos. |

I think bands like Sevendust sound pretty cool, but the absence of solos is kinda stoopid. I realize the solo argument is a little old but I'm a long time music fan and I love a killer solo in a song. LLRNR. |
