It's true. In Flames will finally get their chance to play in front of a whole lot of fans in the U.S. when they support Slipknot in November and December. They are giving "true metal" a chance to shine. Congrats on In Flames for the opportunity. Not my favorite band in the world, but they are very good nonetheless and deserve this shot. We'll just see if the Slipknot fans will eat them up. My own personal view is: I think they may be a little bit too melodic for the mainstream trendy Slipknot fans. Who knows, though... |

In Flames have been getting closer and closer to their stage antics over the past year or so. All they need now is release an absolutely crappy album.
I pretty much lost interest in the band after seeing them live in August 2000.

I don't like it. They should be touring with Maiden or something. Would love to see them again, but not in a crowd of Slipnot fans. What venues are they playing? How must are tix? I paid like $25 for Shadows Fall, Nevermore, and In Flames last year, don't think I could justify $50 to see them open for Slipnot. |

Blame Maiden, not In Flames. I'm sure In Flames would have LOVED to tour with them during the last tour. Instead, we got Queensryche who is an afterthought in the hard rock world. |

What's not to like about the In Flames live show? I thought they kicked ass! Please don't tell me that you're another one of those "They're putting out cds too fast" fans?!?! |

Not blaming In Flames, didn't mean to sound like that at all. That's what I would like, but why not with Slayer and Iced Earth or something like that. This will probably help them, but hope it doesn't change them. I like what they have been doing, but would rather see more of the same (maybe more like whoracle and colony) then like slipnot on the next. |

What the hell does this have to do with the # of CDs they have released? They released what, about one a year? I don't have a problem with that. Their show sucked as Anders was already starting to be an idiot. Plus they had 3-4 hardcore bands opening for them, what a bore. I had to kill time for about 4 hours before they got on stage. They then proceeded to suck.

Based on Crypt's comments, maybe In Flames' music does not inspire the same kind of loyalty that Maiden/Priest etc does? Its typical on how the fast food mentality is so evident with 90's bands. One minute In Flames is the be all and end all and the next minute its a rejection.
Could Nevermore, Dimmu Borgir and Opeth be next?
Heh at least Emperor knew when it was time to fold up shop before what little of their fan base moved on to the next big thing/European scene? |

I don't think In Flames can ever achieve the status of Priest/Maiden. But then again I can't stand "new Priest" either. It's not a black or white situation.
I just lost interest in In Flames. I still like the older stuff, but I got tired of Clayman after a couple of months, even though I loved it at first. I didn't grow tired of "The Jester Race". But then again, that's MY tastes, if other people want to worship them, that's fine with me. I'll probably pick up their next studio album anyway to see what they're up to. But I skipped the live album.
By the way, just to clear things up, this has nothing to do with them touring with Slipknot. I've had this opinion for a little over a year now. The Slipknot touring didn't surprise me much. Odd combination though.
