Yes, I know this is late, but I was thinking about playing some Halloween-esque metal to spook trick-or-treaters the other night and realized I really don't have much in the way of scary stuff. The best I could come up with was WASP's K.F.D. "The Horror" is fairly spooky. Does anyone have suggestions? No death metal please as I can't stand it myself. Something like Lizzie Borden, Maiden, or Dio perhaps.

Type O Negative really pretty much covers the mood you seem to be after, by the way, as you seem pretty cool and all, this is pretty far advanced psyco-yikes premeditation to be startin to plan your kiddie fright fest?

Well Desslar since you ruled out death metal, I was going to say Canibal Corpse F**ked With A Knife. How about Ozzy's "Bark At The Moon"?

Well, since the trick or treaters are probably going to be kids, and kids now-a-days listen to crap, I imagine ANY metal would scare them!

Mercyful Fate-In The Shadows. I played the shit out of this album in the weeks leading up to Halloween 1993. great music for this time of year, "The Bell Witch", "Legend Of the Headless Rider", "Return Of The Vampire 1993", "13 Invitations"....great stuff, my all time favorite comeback album!

No Death Metal, hmmmm.

Hellhammer - 'Triumph Of Death'
Cathedral - 'Cosmic Funeral'
Black Sabbath - 'Black Sabbath'
Bulldozer - 'Exorcism'
Exorcist - 'Lucifer's Banishment'
Celtic Frost - 'Tristesses De La Lune'
Steve Vai - 'The Road To Mt. Calvary'
*************************************
Mussorgsky - 'A Night On Bald Mountain'
Stravinsky - 'The Rite of Spring (Le Sacre du Printemps)'

This are not metal obviously, but they are ominous as hell, wonderful to drive people nuts.
