If there were a Concert kinda like Ozzfest but the only twist was you could pick the bands(about 5 old or new) what would your line-up be? Mine are:

Opener......Sevendust
............Sepultura
............Pantera
............Judas Priest
Headliner...Iron Maiden

I would love to see this line-up in the near future. Maybe I should try to get it hooked up????

Wyvern...are these festivals supposed to get more and more obscure as the days go by? (serious question, I have no idea)

If we keep it to five bands, I'd have it at...

GWAR (opener, to get the crowd bloodied up)
Bal-Sagoth (it's hard to follow up GWAR, and I have no idea if this band sucks live or not, but I'd love to see 'em and they'd keep things fantastical for those of us who either showered quickly or didn't bother)
(blank spot...I wanna be surprised)
Immortal
Nevermore

I got to be honest, if I went to Wyvern's festival my neck would be broken by the second day and I'm sure I'd be losing major amounts of hearing by the end of the festival earplugs or no. I'd probably be miserable despite the great quantity of great bands(especially on the first day).

I'm going to stick with the five band thing and hope I can hang with the groups even though they'd probably crush me.

Opener: Arch Enemy(9+) - Their sets are usually short and it's really quite impossible to rock along to them for such a long time anyway. Too intense. But I think this is one killer band live.

Second Band: Savatage(9+) - Not that there wouldn't be a lack of headbanging with this set, but they also have some slower bits(that I still dig) which could give my neck a little rest and allow me to work on saving some energy for the next three acts.

Third Band: Saxon(10) - At this point in the show it would be hard to still be singing and rocking along, but I think Saxon could get me over the hump. Plus Saxon is the best concert I saw this year and they deserve to be in the tour.

Fourth bAnd: Megadeth(9) - Not that Megadeth or the headliner are any better than these other bands, but I think it would help the overall crowd to have bigger names at the top of the list. I could enjoy Megadeth even if I could no longer move my neck and I think so could the rest of the audience.

Headliner: Motorhead(9) - They'd crank it up and everyone may be going def but you have to go crazy for a band like this. This band would suck up any leftover energy and just rock.

I would hope that all the shows would be slightly on the shorter side so that I could experience them all again without worrying about my energy for the next show. I put the rating of the bands the last time I saw them next to the bands name in ().

C'mon people, are you going to tell me don't you dream with the ultimate festival, all the band you like two weeks of concerts, one hell of a headache, whiplash, sore throath, aching muscles, almost deaf...but no one, NO ONE can take those memories away in the years to come.

But to respect human limitations, I stick with my first day

Obscure in what sense, less daylight of more obscure bands, or more obscure music?

The way I set up my dream festival, was from the basic most respected bands, passing thru the other stuff I like, power, gothic, female singers, prog, guitar wizards, less known bands, etc.

That was what you was asking for?

I'll stick with the 5 band thing as well (Actually, I adhere to the less is more theory of concerts: Fewer bands=better show. With too many bands you don't get to hear enough of anybody, but I'll still play!) I'm gonna pick 5 bands that I've never seen and hopefully, in this dream show, they all can get at least an hour and a half so headliner is unimportant.

1)Blackfoot-In some form, they're not together anymore, but Rick Medlocke has left the door open for a return. One of my all time favs, but their concerts always eluded me.
2)Metal Church-Again, in some form, hopefully with Mike Howe as vocalist.
3)Gamma Ray-Do they EVER play in the U.S?
4)Helloween-See Gamma Ray
5)Triumph-Apparently the bridge has been frever burned between Rik Emmett and Mike Levine/Gil Moore, but it still would be cool to see Levine/Moore touring with a capable guitarist and a vocalist similar to Emmett (Female maybe?)

Yeah, it's kind of an eclectic assortment, but, hey, it's MY show right?
