DAVID COVERDALE - The Harsh Light Of Reality Page 5
By Martin Popoff

"I must tell you, the person I've been most impressed with through all the years is the guy on Into The Light, John X. John X is not well known at all but he's a force to be reckoned with. He's a very eccentric man. It was a pleasure for me to work with someone who came from such a left field. He helped transform what could have been relatively clichˇ classic rock songs into very sonically interesting tapestries. As I say, I think he's the greatest. He dresses unusually. He's a very eccentric man, and I hope the industry doesn't change that. But I think it's very difficult for certain people to come to terms with his eccentricity. It's their loss, actually, because he's a remarkable talent. It was a marriage made in heaven for me, and I can't wait to work with him again, and I've never had that before (laughs)."

If you are at all a classic rock fan, do not miss this record. People with Coverdale's pedigree... damn, there's no end to the ways they can screw up. Into The Light doesn't screw up. It is a thoughtful, level-headed, brilliantly executed collection of tracks that form a cohesive quiltwork of timeless rock styles. See davidcoverdale.com, amazon.com or cdnow.com for more info.
