Juan Croucier - New Friends & Old Friends Page 1
Special Report by Martin Popoff

Juan Croucier of Ratt fame is putting the finishing touches on the debut album from his new band Liquid Sunday. "I just have to finish the artwork and some of the credits and then we're going to get it duplicated, but I've been so busy in my studio, with other bands, that I haven't been able to finish. It's available, but it just takes a lot of secretarial work. Lately I've been doing a lot of late-night sessions. I've been in the studio until about 2:00 or 4:00 in the morning. Right now I've got a band in there tentatively called Section 8 and in fact, the bass player and the drummer are my brothers Tom and Rick and a while back I did a band from Japan called Before Christ Butterfly who are basically a Japanese punk rock band, and who lean towards metal, almost Pantera-ish Really good musicianship, very tight."

"Liquid Sunday is hard to categorize because I've taken different types of music that I want to do in the future. So it ranges from hard rock, similar to what I used to do in Ratt, to more of a poppy ballad-type thing. I didn't want any limitation to what the band turns in song-wise. It's interesting. There are also a lot of studio things I did in the record. The record is meant to be heard from front to back, but the way I've sequenced the record, you can kind of go through and bypass the intros and segues."
