DARK TRANQUILLITY - A Fine And Shining Neo-Grind Page 5
by Martin Popoff

In closing, I asked Niklas in which field he felt a greater sense of accomplishment - making metal for the ears or metal for the eyes...

"In both cases it's 90% hard work. Sometimes you can really feel that spark of inspiration, you can really feel that things are just in this creative flow and everything just turns out great and you've got something really good going on. But usually it's the same process, both with artwork and with music. You have some sort of basic idea or concept, and then you have to do a lot of trial and error, really work it over and over again until finally something materializes that is as good as it can be. You have that small spark of inspiration, and then basically it's hard work, regardless of whether it's music or artwork."
