FATAL SMILE - Know Thy Unknowns Page 3
By Martin Popoff

Are any of these songs an "in-joke" or reference to a band you guys all love?

"Yeah, we have ripped off from all of our favourite bands and put it together piece by piece to our own songs. You know, Fatal Smile - Swedens answer to Spinal Tap! No, just kidding. I mean we all listen to different music, people like Frank Sinatra, Metallica, Whitesnake, Budgie, Black Sabbath, Gov't Mule, Van Halen, Queensryche. It's a great mix of the best of the best. Mix all that and you've got some great music a la Fatal Smile. H.B writes all the lyrics. I think that a singer should write his own lyrics, so he knows and feels what the hell he's singing about. His lyrics are the product of his mood. I mean it's a pretty big distance in the lyrics between Warfear and Crush On You. But then again, it's all about love and war."

Favourite moment with respect to meeting your rock heroes?

It was pretty cool to open up for Thin Lizzy. I mean just to stand on the same stage as John Sykes. That's cool and he's a really nice person. I also met Lemmy in London at this strip club and had a real blast; Lemmy is Mr. Rock 'n' Roll."
