HAMMERFALL - Canada Lets The Hammer Fall! Page 5
by Martin Popoff

"But now it was personal, because of this attack and everything people had been saying. So it grew and grew up until that point. So I was reading a book, and I saw these words. Not in the same order, but they just expressed everything I felt Hammerfall stood for, which is, no matter what everybody says to us, we're always going to be unbent, unbowed, unbroken, and the Chapter V part... that was a compromise with Joacim. I wanted it to be just the three U's, but he said, 'It's going to be too hard for people to remember,' so we added something. But for me, it's always going to be Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken."

"Sorry for rambling a little bit (laughs)."

No apologies necessary. That kind of puts this band in a whole new light, doesn't it? See them live and that point will be driven home emphatically. For Hammerfall, it really does turn out to be about believing in heavy metal. The enthusiasm reigning down from the stage is palpable, and if a lump doesn't form in your throat while watching Joacim reach out to the crowd, well then, you aren't a headbanger. Love 'em or hate 'em, these guys are out there defending ALL of metal. See www.hammerfall.net for more.
