Solace: Peace And Disquiet Page 2

Given that the band all have full-time jobs and families to support, touring might be a bit of a problem, although if a proposed European tour comes through, the boys are going to find a way to make it work. However recording grinds on, the band about to cut 'On The Hunt' for a Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute and 'Nobody's Fault' for an Aerosmith tribute put together by a Detroit label.
One interesting vinyl goodie is also planned. Tommy explains. "We're going to be doing a double split gatefold seven inch with The Atomic Bitchwax, which should be pretty cool. I'm really looking forward to that. Another great Jersey band. We're both going to be doing an original song, and the whole gist of the seven inch is that we're each going to be covering an AC/DC song. We're going to be doing 'Whole Lotta Rosie', and theirs is 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap'. We have our original written but we don't have a title for it yet, and I know that the Bitchwax song will be an instrumental."
Check out www.meteorcity.com for more information on the Further album, a record that is definitely not as quiet as the band's peaceful moniker. "I guess our name is actually a little bit of a contrast," laughs Tommy, "because solace is supposed to be comforting and whatnot, and we're definitely not an easy listening band. There are definitely some atmospheric elements to the band, but it's more of a piledriver."
