YNGWIE MALMSTEEN - Crystal Ball (Shattered?)
Special Report by Martin Popoff

Here's Yngwie Malmsteen talking about his plans for the next few months. In light of a fired tour manager, a fired lead singer, and a keyboardist who's quit, bear in mind things are in flux. The latest has Yngwie back in Florida making plans to continue, possibly with Barriemore Barlow on drums and Jeff Scott Soto on vocals.

According to a press release posted at www.yngwie.org, "singer Jorn Lande was involved in a dispute backstage before the show in Cleveland, Ohio, on Sunday April 8. The dispute elevated to a point which prompted security personnel to call in the local police. Being a close friend of Lande's, drummer John Macaluso felt a loyalty to Jorn and has also left the band. Shows from the 10th of April to the 16th have understandably been cancelled. Yngwie, Mats, Randy, and crew have returned to Miami to regroup. The plan is to carry out a 4-5 day intensive rehearsal with a newly added singer and drummer, and be back on the road Tuesday, April 17 to perform at the Pageant in St Louis. This is the best recovery method available under the circumstances. Yngwie Malmsteen expresses deep regret that these circumstances arose in the midst of such a strong resurgence in the United States and sends his apologies to those fans who will be affected by the cancelled shows."
