JACK STARR has shared the video below featuring his first professional recording "Gin Gin Woman", recorded with the band California, in 1971. Says Jack, "So in the interview about KISS and my audition, I mentioned that I was around the same age maybe a couple of years younger, I graduated high school in 1970 and in 1971 went to France with my band and got a record deal and toured France and neighboring countries etc. I am sending you a song I did called 'Gin Gin Woman,' my band back then was named California. If it sounds at all like KISS or Slade or Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes, or the MC5, it's probably because I had a lot of similar influences that they had. Let me know what you think, I thought you guys would get a kick out of this simply because there are not a lot of musicians today that were there at the start of heavy metal and are still doing it today. Cheers and enjoy this little ride on the metal Time Machine."
