Guitar Meets Science has shared a new mini-documentary on the HEAR N' AID PROJECT of the 80's. "What started as a snub from the mainstream charity movement turned into one of heavy metal's most defining moments. Ronnie James Dio, Jimmy Bain, and Vivian Campbell spearheaded a project that brought together 40 of the biggest names in rock and metal to record 'Stars', a charity single for African famine relief. Despite raising over $3 million and featuring legends like Rob Halford, Yngwie Malmsteen, Iron Maiden, Motley Crue, and Judas Priest, the project was largely ignored by MTV and radio. The legal battles, contractual delays, and mainstream rejection couldn't stop the metal community from proving they had heart.
