44 years ago today, on the morning of February 19, 1982, a drunken OZZY OSBOURNE dressed in his wife Sharon's green evening gown because she had hidden his clothes, wandered the streets of Downtown San Antonio. Somewhere along the way, he decided to answer nature's call, on a statue that turned out to be the Alamo Cenotaph. That ill-fated decision landed him in Bexar County Jail, just hours before a sold-out show at Hemisfair Arena. Stone City Attractions CEO Jack Orbin, who promoted the show, recalled the frantic call from Sharon Osborne: "I remember Sharon calling me up and saying that Ozzy was in jail and he wasn't going to be able to play. I said 'Hell yes you are.' I went down and posted a $30 bond for public intoxication. I asked Ozzy 'What are you doing? You can't urinate on the Alamo.' And he said, 'I don't understand. What's the big deal?' I said, 'It's like pissing in the Queen's cup.' He said, 'Oh.' And so I got him to his hotel. Someone from the San Antonio Light ran up to him and asked, 'Did you mean to urinate on the Alamo?' And he said, 'Yes. And the White House is next.'" New York City's 8th Street, once home to Jimi Hendrix's Electric Lady Studios, is set to be officially co-named JIMI HENDRIX WAY on February 24. Hendrix purchased the Generation Club on 8th Street in 1968, with the goal of establishing a home base for Electric Lady Studios. The studio, designed by visionary architect John Storyk, featured round windows, psychedelic murals, and as few right angles as possible. The project was completed in 1970, and Hendrix recorded just one song there before departing for the UK where he tragically died of a barbiturate overdose.
SCORPIONS are back in Las Vegas with a new headlining residency at PH Live at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. The shows will take place from Thursday, September 17 through Saturday, October 3, 2026, and will once again feature special guest Buckcherry.
