In December 2025 the BBC reported on a signed petition calling for July 22 to become an official day to celebrate late the Black Sabbath star for OZZY OSBOURNE DAY. The day would be for fan events, tribute concerts, community celebrations and fundraiser opportunities, Canadian fan Marvin Daw explained, saying he, “grew up on Ozzy’s energy, personality and influence,” and a day to celebrate him would be the appropriate way to remember him. “He was a tremendous performer, he’s contributed to Parkinson’s research, and he’s done so much for heavy metal,” he said. word has come down that the petition has just hit the 30,000 signature milestone—an important step in a much larger movement. With support pouring in from across the global metal community, organizers are encouraging fans, musicians, and media outlets to keep the momentum going by sharing the petition across social media and beyond."
